Dogpatch Community Court Reveal Party!

The Golden State Warriors Community Foundation, in partnership with the Institute of Contemporary Art San Francisco, Alive & Free – Omega Boys Club, and the Good Tidings Foundation, will unveil a newly refurbished basketball court at Alive & Free on June 27. The dedication ceremony will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the site, which is located at 1060 Tennessee Street, San Francisco, and will be followed by a basketball clinic for local youth, hosted by Warriors Basketball Academy, from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m.

The refurbished court is made possible by the Making Hoops program, a partnership between the Warriors Community Foundation and the Good Tidings Foundation, which has refurbished more than 90 basketball courts around the Bay Area. This is the third time this partnership has refurbished the court, first in 2008 with Warriors player Stephen Jackson, and another time in 2016 with then-Mayor Ed Lee.

The renovation work included the removal of all existing asphalt with new baserock and asphalt installed, new acrylic surface with play lines, new breakaway rims, fence repair, new paint, a new banner, and an artistic court mural. The court mural was designed by artist Patrick Martinez and painted by the Bay Area Mural Program (BAMP), and the banner was designed by the ICA.
