Dr. Marshall and Alive & Free Win the 2017 California Prize
Dr. Marshall and Alive & Free have been awarded the 2017 California Prize for Service and the Common Good! The California Prize is USF’s way of rewarding, honoring, and celebrating the work of those who share our commitment to create a more just, sustainable, and humane world. Past honorees include Salesforce.org, Daniel Lurie, and the San Francisco Giants. We are very proud to be recognized for the work we do in the community, and this prize is a tremendous honor for us.
“We are proud of Dr. Marshall and the work his team at Alive & Free is doing for the youth of our city and the world. We honor Alive & Free for sharing the USF mission to create new opportunities for bright and ambitious students who will go on to create a more just, sustainable, and humane world,” said USF President Paul J. Fitzgerald, S.J. Click here to read the full article.
Dr. Marshall and Alive & Free will be formally honored at the 2017 California Prize Award Gala on April 27. At this signature event, USF connects changemakers on campus to statewide champions of the common good by bringing together philanthropists, civic dignitaries, and university leaders to honor this year’s awardee. This year’s gala benefits the African American Scholar Project at USF. For more info on the awards dinner, please visit: https://www.usfca.edu/california-prize
